UPDATE (2026-10-16): Clarification for Clause 52.208-9 Q: Can the Government please clarify if this AbilityOne requirement was utilized on the previous (current) contract? A: Yes, the previous (current) contract does include FAR Clause 52.208-9 and utilized AbilityOne requirements. Q: Will the Government please provide the supply usage (quantities purchased) from AbilityOne on the previous (current) contract over the last year?
A: The Government does not track or maintain records of the specific supply usage (quantities purchased) by the contractor under the current contract. The contractor is responsible for estimating, purchasing, and managing their own supply inventory in compliance with the contract terms and FAR Clause 52.208-9. Q: Please confirm that only consumables (paper products, can liners) will need to be purchased through AbilityOne?
A: If different, please clarify. In accordance with FAR Clause 52.208-9, the Contractor shall purchase any supplies required for Government use under this contract from the AbilityOne Procurement List, provided they are available. While this primarily includes custodial consumables such as paper products (paper towels, toilet paper) and can liners, offerors shall review the current AbilityOne Procurement List (available at AbilityOne.gov) to ensure compliance for all supplies used in performance.
Q: Can the Government please confirm that any AbilityOne supplier can be used by Offerors, not just the one on base? A: Yes. Offerors may procure required AbilityOne items from any authorized AbilityOne distributor, supplier, or commercial outlet, and are not restricted to using only the on-base supplier.
Q: If a specific Fort Hood AbilityOne provider is to be used, can the Government please confirm and provide this AbilityOne contact information. A: Use of a specific Fort Hood local provider is not mandatory. Offerors may purchase from any authorized distributor.
However, for local convenience, the Fort Hood AbilityOne Base Supply Center (serviced by Lighthouse for the Blind or similar authorized agency) is located on-base and may be contacted directly at the installation for supply inquiries.
