Networks and Wi-Fi (Category 2)
The District is seeking proposals to replace core network switches in the high school and Millcreek Elementary buildings. Each building requires a switch stack or equivalent solution that provides coordinated management, interswitch connectivity, and the port capacity specified below.Minimum Ethernet Port RequirementsThe high school requires a minimum of 180 usable RJ45 Ethernet ports. At least 40 ports must support 10 Gb multigigabit Ethernet with Class 6 PoE or better. The remaining 140 ports must support at least 1 Gbps Ethernet with Class 4 PoE or better.Millcreek Elementary requires a minimum of 170 usable RJ45 Ethernet ports. At least 50 ports must support 10 Gb multigigabit Ethernet with Class 6 PoE or better. The remaining 120 ports must support at least 1 Gbps Ethernet with Class 4 PoE or better. The multigigabit ports must support 1, 2.5, 5, and 10 Gbps Ethernet speeds and provide IEEE 802.3bt Class 6 PoE or better. The 1 Gb ports must provide IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE or better. Ports exceeding these minimum speed or PoE requirements are acceptable.Port quantities represent minimum usable connections at each building. Proposals may exceed the specified quantities to accommodate standard switch configurations. Fiber uplink ports and ports used for stacking or interswitch connections must be provided in addition to the required usable RJ45 Ethernet ports.Minimum Fiber Connectivity RequirementsThe high school solution must include at least one individual switch capable of supporting eight simultaneous 10 Gbps SFP+ fiber connections and another individual switch capable of supporting 2 simultaneous 10 Gbps SFP+ fiber connectionsThe Millcreek Elementary solution must include one switch capable of supporting at least two simultaneous 10 Gbps SFP+ fiber connections and a separate switch capable of supporting at least four simultaneous 10 Gbps SFP+ fiber connections. These fiber connections must remain available for network use after any ports required for stacking or interswitch connectivity are allocated. Bidders must identify the switch models and any expansion modules needed to meet these requirements.Configuration and CompatibilityEach proposed solution must support the Districts existing network functions, including applicable VLAN and routing requirements. Bidders must describe the proposed stack or equivalent architecture, interswitch bandwidth, management approach, and redundancy features.Proposals must identify the PoE budget available on each switch and across each buildings proposed configuration, including any limitations on simultaneously powering devices at the specified PoE classes. All power supplies necessary for the proposed configuration must be included.Proposal RequirementsProposals must include an itemized bill of materials identifying switch quantities, manufacturer and model numbers, port capabilities, uplink modules, power supplies, stacking components, cables, and required software licenses. Bidders must identify licensing terms, recurring costs, warranty coverage, support options, and anticipated delivery dates.Bidders must clearly state whether fiber transceivers are included or existing transceivers will be reused. Any proposed transceivers must be identified by type and compatibility with the Districts existing fiber infrastructure.Equipment, required licensing, installation or configuration services, and optional support must be priced separately. Any E-Rate-ineligible items or portions of costs must be clearly identified. Proposals must disclose all exceptions to the requested specifications. The District will consider equivalent solutions that meet or exceed these requirements.
