E-Rate Form 470 Bids: Open School and Library Requests

Updated Oct 21, 2026

US schools and libraries post an FCC Form 470 when they want internet access, Wi-Fi, network equipment or its maintenance paid in part by the E-Rate program. Today 873 requests from 47 states are open for bids, 144 of them closing within a week.

How E-Rate bidding works

After a Form 470 is posted, the school or library must wait at least 28 days before signing a contract (the allowable contract date). Until then, any service provider can read the request and its RFP and send a bid. The Form 470 on USAC says how to respond and whom to contact.

What schools and libraries are asking for

• Internet access 502 requests
• Wi-Fi and network equipment 334 requests
• Managed Wi-Fi 226 requests
• Network maintenance 195 requests

For most requests we also show what the applicant bought through E-Rate in the last two years: the provider, the cost before discount, the E-Rate discount and how many bids it received. That shows who you compete with and the size of the job.
