MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

SUBJECT: Item Description
1. The 76th AMXG is requesting the utilization of funds to purchase one (1) seated, battery powered towing tractor.
2. The requested equipment description/specifications are outlined below. •

Shall be seated with an adjustable seat for extended use and operator comfort. Shall have solid pneumatic tires.
Vehicle must be able to operate in temperatures ranging from 15 - 100 degrees F for outdoor operations in winter and summer
Shall have a Clevis pin style hitch with a quick-release bar for ability to release a load without leaving operator seat.
Unit shall have a tow rating between 12,000 and 16,000 pounds. Unit shall have a minimum top speed of at least 6 mph. Unit shall have a minimum top speed, while towing a 6,000 pound load, of at least 3 mph.
Shall use tricycle wheel configuration (One turning wheel, or two in tandem on a single steering axle, in the front and two wheels in the back) to allow for ease of maneuverability around aircraft in hangars.
Turning radius shall not exceed 75”
Unit shall have power steering assistance to reduce operator effort. Vehicle cannot exceed dimensions of 85in long, 40 in wide, and 55 in high to fit through all doorways.
Shall have a foot brake and a parking brake
Must have safety features including high visibility headlight(s), side lights and flashers, hazard lights, audible backup alarm, and a horn Vehicle shall include battery so that the vehicle is operational immediately upon receiving it. Battery shall be rated for a minimum of 6 hours of use. Battery must be compatible with 48V charger that has Anderson Connector

3. Shipping Instructions – Deliver to B2280. Contact Brad Jackson for forklift access to offload delivery. Delivery company is responsible for moving tug to the back of trailer for forklift to access it.
