In accordance with 10 USC §4022, the Government will be awarding a follow-on FAR contract. The Naval Energetic Systems and Technologies (NEST) Request for Prototype Projects (RPP), under which this prototype OTA was awarded, included provisions for a follow-on production contract. As such, the requirements of 10 USC §4022(f)(1) and DFARS 206.001-70 have been met and a follow-on contract for production can proceed without further competition. This notice is not a request for proposal.

This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 4022(f)(1), as implemented in DFARS 206.001-70, Exception for prototype projects for follow-on production contracts. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals nor does it restrict the Government from an ultimate acquisition approach; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice.

A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. Requests for solicitation will not receive a response.

All interested sources shall provide the organization name, address, point of contact, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, business size, taxpayer identification number, DUNS number, and CAGE Code.
