Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Description The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service, Pacific Northwest Research Station, Pacific Northwest Forestry Sciences Laboratory (Corvallis, OR), requires the procurement and delivery of 523 brand-new, small autonomous bio-acoustic recorders.
This purchase directly supports mission-critical passive acoustic monitoring work under the Northwest Forest Plan Effectiveness Monitoring Program. Critical criteria for field operations: Because field personnel must manually pack and carry large volumes of these recorders on foot through remote backcountry, steep slopes, and exceptionally rough wilderness terrain, minimizing physical burden is critical.
Achieving the smallest possible exterior footprint and the absolute lightest weight profile is a vital operational necessity for safety, multi-day hiking range, and field deployment efficiency. Due to the remote locations and the need to make as few trips as possible for efficiency and safety, it is also vital this recorder is equipped with a long battery life. All units delivered under this contract must be fully operational, turnkey, and ready for immediate field deployment.
Equivalent products matching these baseline performance parameters will be fully considered.
