Background: The Government requires mobile telephone services in support of the United States Visiting Forces (USVF).
The contractor shall provide mobile telephones services for USVF stationed in the Tri- base area, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The service packages will be available for purchase on an established ordering system, with multiple different government purchase card holders authorized to purchase from the ordering system established IAW the provided ordering guide at time of award. Industry Questions: An issue the government is currently facing is frequent dead zone and inconsistent coverage on and around installations.
A solution posed was the inclusion of technology to allow handsets to directly connect to satellites outside terrestrial coverage. Is this a solution that your company could provide and how effective might this solution be in solving the government’s issue? Are there any other solutions that your company could provide to fix connectivity and coverage issues?
If so, please provide those in response to this RFI. Response Guidelines: This is a Request for Information (RFI) for market research and planning purposes only. This notice does not constitute a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quote (RFQ).
No contract will be awarded from this announcement. The Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense.
Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFQ or RFP, if any is issued. Please submit responses electronically to the designated points of contact by the specified response date.
