PRE-PROPOSAL INQUIRY
SOLICITATION: N0025327Q0003
TITLE: WSTF Tank Pipe Insulation
Government Responses will be provided in red.
INQUIRIES:
1. Will the Government schedule individual site visits prior to the quote submission deadline to assist in preparing a quote?
No.
2. On Sheet M6.01, Detail 6, the red-circled area labeled "Equipment Requiring Reinsulation" includes heat exchanger CHW-HX-1. However, Spec Section C, Paragraphs 1.1–1.2, outlines piping insulation without explicitly mentioning the heat exchanger. Please confirm if heat exchanger CHW-HX-1 requires insulation and weatherproof jacketing, or if the scope is limited to the associated piping. If the heat exchanger is included, please clarify the required insulation extent for accurate pricing.
Heat exchanger CHW-HX-1 itself does not require insulation or weatherproof jacketing under this scope. However, special attention must be given to the connection points. The yellow-highlighted areas where the piping fuses to the heat exchanger must be thoroughly insulated and weatherproofed to protect the equipment and piping from environmental elements.

3. Please clarify the required equipment connections and total scope depicted on Sheets M6.01 and M6.02. Specifically, confirm whether the equipment connections are limited to pump PR-P-1 and heater CHW-HW-1, or if the entire system shown is included in this scope. Confirmed. Direct primary equipment connections under this scope of work are limited to pump PR-P-1 and heater CHW-HW-1. The scope of work also includes all inline components - such as inline valves, temperature sensors, and related accessories associated with this piping run as shown on the contract drawings. Refer to Sheet MLegend (Page 1) for the mechanical piping symbols legend. 4. Additionally, please clarify the correct pipe sizing, as Sheet M6.02 illustrates 3-inch piping rather than 2-inch piping.
Regarding pipe dimensions, all required piping for this system is 2-inch, as indicated on the highlighted/circled detail on Page 3. The 3-inch piping shown on Page 4 depicts an adjacent existing system that is separate, unattached, and outside the scope of this contract.
