STATEMENT OF WORK

Calibration Unit – Hardware Procurement

Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division

SCOPE

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), W34 – Applied Energetics & Detection Systems Branch - has a requirement for the ability to use high frequency network and signal analyzers accurately and to specification up to the 67 GHz range. W34 requires an accurate calibration unit that can calibrate measurement systems up to 67 GHz in order to ensure instrument accuracy, in support of current and future RF projects.

DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES

The vendor shall provide and deliver a 50 Ohm, 10 MHz to 67 GHz, 2 port, 1.85mm(f) calibration kit. Calibration kit shall be capable of calibrating Rohde & Schwarz high frequency network analyzers accurately and to specification. Vendor shall be based in the USA and provide the full calibration kit to NSWC IHD.

IMPACT

NSWC IHD was awarded a $1.5M contract for upgrading the RF lab 113’s capabilities to function at the 110 GHz level. Rohde & Schwarz provided signal/network analyzers that function up to 67 GHz but this did not include a calibration kit to ensure the continued functionality of the hardware. A calibration kit is a mandatory piece of hardware for laboratory use otherwise equipment can fall out of specification and there is no way to fix it without furnishing the government property to the vendor or a calibration company. Without properly calibrated network analyzers, NSWC IHD W34 faces a severe capability degradation as their high frequency equipment would not be accurate in the desired frequency range which would stop all work in that frequency range. The lab network analyzers would not be fully capable or functional and planned projects cannot proceed.

ACTIVITY SUMMARY

Vendor shall provide the Government with the following: Full provision of hardware listed in 3.0 in desired quantities.
