PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS

Legacy VISN 5 (VA Capitol Health Care Network) consists of 6 VA Medical Centers across the DC, Maryland and West Virginia areas. Each of these medical centers utilize a singular instance of the Vocera hands free communication system. Vocera is utilized throughout each Legacy VISN 5 facility for quick communication, between both clinical and support staff. Vocera is connected to the VA telephony system, enabling users that don't have Vocera badges to take advantage of its built in phone book and call routing capabilities. Some VISN 5 sites have also taken advantage of Vocera Engage integrations into clinical systems for automatic alert transmission. Examples of these clinical integrations include: Nurse Call, CPRS, and telemetry. The scope of the Vocera service contract is two-fold. The first piece of the service contract is the licensing component. Vocera requires individual licenses for: concurrent Vocera Voice users, concurrent Vocera Messaging Users, Vocera Engage licenses for all beds integrated with a clinical system, and concurrent sessions between the VA telephony system and Vocera. Corrective service and support is included with each of Vocera licenses. The second piece of the service contract is the Premier Plus Support Services. This grants Legacy VISN 5 access to all software upgrades (major and minor) and services relating to the general upkeep and administration of the system. Examples include: training, badge deployment, database administration, and vulnerability management.
