PURCHASE DESCRIPTION
FOR
Metrology Grade Oscilloscope
SCOPE: The Air Force Metrology and Calibration (AFMETCAL) program office requires the procurement of a highly accurate, standardized Oscilloscope to establish a consistent technical baseline across all Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratories (PMELs). Establishing this standard will directly support the authoring of Technical Orders (TOs) by enabling engineers to reference a single, reliable model for equipment requirements. Historically, PMELs have independently procured oscilloscopes categorized as Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). This decentralized approach has limited AFMETCAL’s visibility into field inventory, complicating TO development and supportability. Standardizing this hardware across both PMEL field units and the AFMETCAL engineering lab will ensure seamless technical alignment, simplify operator training, and guarantee identical bench setups.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
2.1.Input Channels: 2 or 4 channels
2.2.Bandwidth: 1.5 to 2 GHz
2.3.Resolution: ≥12-bit native resolution across all modes, ≥ 16-bit in high-res 2.4.DC Vertical Gain: ≤ ±0.50% of full scale (≤ ±0.20% with signal averaging) 2.5.DC Voltage Measurement: ≤ ±(0.25% of reading+0.1% of full scale + 0.5 mV) 2.6.Input impedance: 50 Ω +/- 1%, 1 M Ω +/- 0.5% DC Coupled 2.7.Channel-to-Channel Isolation: ≥ 40 dB DC to 500 MHz; ≥ 30 dB 500 MHz to 1.5 GHz 2.8.Timebase Accuracy: +/-5 ppm
2.9.Timebase Range: 50 ps/div to 1,000s/div
2.10.Time Interval Accuracy: ≤ ±(1.0 ppm + 2 ps rms)
2.11.Sample Rate: 5-10 GS/s
2.12.Jitter: < 0.5 ps
2.13.Memory Depth: 50 to 250 Mpts
2.14.Waveform Update: 200,000+ wfm/s
2.15.Transition Time: ≤ 4 ns
2.16.Statistics: Vertical and horizontal histograms with reporting of Min, Max, Mean, Median, and Standard Deviation. 2.17.Cursor Readout: ΔV and ΔT, percentage ratio, phase, and FFT dB units to prevent manual calculation and unit-conversion errors by technicians. 2.18.Trigger Analysis: Available
2.19.Warm-Up Time: 30 min to 1 hour (max) warm up time
2.20.Warranty: Minimum three (3) year parts, labor, and factory support warranty, with guaranteed spare parts availability for a minimum of seven (7) years post-procurement.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: It is important to have a user-friendly interface with automation and manual controls available. Manuals that show the programming language would also be required, in addition to the user manual and the service manual with individual steps on how to perform a full calibration of the oscilloscope and any warranted options it may have.
