Introduction
The Next Generation Tactical Radio (NGTR) is a Software Defined Radio (SDR) system intended to replace the AN/ARC-210 family of radios across multiple platforms. The NGTR shall provide expanded frequency coverage, increased waveform capability, improved size/weight/power performance, and enhanced security features while maintaining backward compatibility with existing aircraft and support equipment. This document provides a consolidated summary of the key performance requirements extracted from the DRAFT NGTR System Performance Specification (SPS). Communication Waveform Requirements
The following communications waveforms are planned for NGTR: V/UHF Line of Sight (VULOS) voice and data - MIL-STD-188-242, MIL-STD-188-243 VHF AM Air Traffic Control (ATC) - ED-23C, ARINC 716-11 Land Mobile / Public Safety - ANSI/TIA-603, TIA-102
SINCGARS - MIL-STD-188-241, SINCGARS-FH3
Tactical Secure Voice - NSA 09-01A (TSVCIS v4.0)
Combat Net Radio (CNR) - MIL-STD-188-220, MIL-STD-2045-47001 Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) - MIL-STD-188-187
SATURN - STANAG 4372, SATURN US Specification (incl. SAT-002) Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) including Ship UHF Data Broadcast
SINS/ACLS - AR-57 and MIL-STD-188-203-3
Automatic Direction Finding (ADF) - 30-400 MHz operation Sonobuoy Command (CASS/DICASS)
Guard - Military VHF and UHF Emergency and Guard channels Integrated Waveform (IW) SATCOM - MIL-STD-188 -181C/182B/183B Waveform Concurrency for one communications waveform at full transmit power with concurrent receive-only support of either Guard or ADF. Radio Frequency Front End Requirements
