Sole Source Notice
The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) is the Nation's federal health sciences university and is committed to excellence in military medicine and public health during peace and war. We provide the Nation with health professionals dedicated to career service in the Department of Defense and the United States Public Health Service and with scientists who serve the common good. Intent to Sole-Source: USU intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price commercial contract with a one-year base period and up to four (4) one-year options for maintenance and repairs for a Mediso nanoScan Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) and X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) 4H/CT and a Mediso nanoScan Positron Emission Tomography (PET) 122S/CT.

Sole Source Justification: These SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners are manufactured by Mediso and require trained service professionals, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) spare parts and proprietary software. Mediso is the only company with the expertise, OEM spare parts, and proprietary software to perform maintenance and repair. Third-party vendors do not have access to OEM spare parts, schematics, and propriety software necessary to properly perform maintenance and repair of the SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners. This is NOT a request for Quotes.
In accordance with 5.207(c)(16)(i), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and that the interested potential Offeror can supply the Government’s needs as stated above.
