a) The Source Sought Notice mentions "Reverse Engineering" in the Data Rights section. It is unclear what the Government is asking for. If a new FFF design is provided, is the Government also expecting Unlimited Data Rights, or only in the case where Reverse Engineering of a unit manufactured by Anaren is provided to us as GFE? Response: Reverse Engineering is only needed if there are obsolescence issues; otherwise, this is a FFF design as provided in the TDP. The USG already has Unlimited Data Rights (UDLs) to the documents provided but would require UDLs if reverse engineering is performed.
b) Is this RFI soliciting alternate sources to Anaren to increase competition for this item, or is Anaren no longer providing this item and the Government is thus seeking a new source for ongoing sustainment?
Response: Anaren is now TTM Technologies and they have been solicited for this item as well. This will be a full and open solicitation.
c) will the Classified data be provided only upon contract award, or prior to that? Response: The Classified Information will be provided after contract award and will list the exact X-Band or S-Band frequencies and requirements that the board(s)/assemblies shall be designed to.
d) In which final system or Weapons System is this part used? Response: GLOBUS
e) Is the RFI for the Digital Backplane (Notice ID FA8507_DPA_SourcesSought) part of the same system?
