FY 26 Mechanical Site Prep Drum Chopping Ocala National Forest Questions and Answers
1) The package gives the questions address but does not state how quotes are to be submitted. Should quotes be emailed to you with a copy to Ms. Wrobel, or submitted in another way?
Answer: Yes, the questions should be submitted via email, and the quotes will also be submitted via email.
2) The SOW’s individual required-work entries total 1,175 distinct acres, consisting of 778 acres designated for one treatment and 397 acres in Area 10-1 designated for two treatments. The RFQ separately lists 1,175 acres under Line Item 0001 and 397 acres under Line Item 0002. Please confirm whether Line Item 0001 covers the first pass across all 1,175 acres, including Area 10-1, and Line-Item 0002 covers only the additional pass over the same 397 acres. Alternatively, does Line Item 0002 require pricing for both passes? Please confirm the total distinct required acreage and the intended payable treatment quantities so that bidders neither duplicate nor omit treatment costs. Answer: Yes, that is correct. Line Item 0001 covers the first chopping treatment across all 1,175 acres, including the first pass in Area 10-1. Line-Item 0002 covers only the second pass on the 397 acres in Area 10-1.
3) Area 62-8 is listed as 17 acres in the SOW table and separate map attachment, but the map embedded in the SOW shows 22 acres. The separate map attachment also contains a restriction not shown on the embedded version. Please identify the controlling map set and provide any corrected acreage schedule or maps needed for quotation preparation. Answer: This is a typo on the map. The acres for Area 62-8 is 17 acres 4) Attachment 3, Map 5, identifies an eagle-nest restricted portion of Area 61-13 with the instruction “No Site Prep from Oct–June.” This overlaps the entire November 16, 2026– February 26, 2027, performance period. Please confirm whether the marked portion must be excluded throughout performance, whether its acreage has already been deducted from the scheduled quantity, and whether any substitute acreage is anticipated. Answer: The “No Site Prep” area is a no-chopping zone for this contract, and its acreage has already been deducted from the total. The 96 acres shown for Area 61-13 does not include the restricted eagle-nest area.

5) Please also identify the specific wetlands requiring 700-foot buffers and confirm how required buffers and other exclusion areas will be identified in the field before operations
