INTRODUCTION
Responses to this RFI may be used to formulate final requirements and/or to identify qualified vendors capable of meeting those requirements. The description below outlines preliminary requirements envisioned for DNA Buccal Collection Kits. The information gathered may be used to formulate acquisition strategies for competitive solicitations. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future associated solicitation that may be issued. If a solicitation is released, the public announcement will be synopsized on the SAM.gov website. It is the potential vendor’s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of any follow-on information.

BACKGROUND
The United States Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Laboratory Division (LD), Biometrics Analysis Section (BAS), is conducting market research, seeking to gather information on companies who can provide DNA Buccal Collection Kits capable of processing DNA databasing samples for upload to the National DNA Index System (NDIS).
Requirements of the FBI
The DNA Buccal Collection Kit(s) shall meet the requirements specified below; that is suited for international testing laboratory standards and the applicable quality assurance procedures.
