VA has published a Request for Proposals (RFP) to adaptively reuse 11 historic buildings on the Robley Rex VA Medical Center campus. The selected Developer would enter a historic reuse outlease with VA to finance, renovate, operate, and maintain Building 1 and the associated buildings. The objectives of this development opportunity include but are not limited to: • Provide an innovative solution to preserve a VA-owned, historic property. • Enable productive use of the property which does not involve VA capital dollars and benefits all stakeholders.
• Meet VA’s obligations under Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) to better preserve and protect the property. • Re-purpose historic buildings for purposes of business development and community support.

Who should attend:
VA is seeking qualified developers with a proven company track record of: • Reusing historic properties for a multitude of end uses • Possessing financial wherewithal required to successfully develop and execute a viable long-term business plan
• Demonstrated operation and staffing knowledge to successfully implement a historic property re-purpose initiative
Industry Day Goals:
• Ensure synergy between VA and potential developer(s)
• Reiterate VA requirements
• Gain a better understanding of recent industry developments • Provide updates on future VA developments
• Answer potential developer’s questions regarding the submission process and/or infrastructure, engineering and environmental history and conditions of the RRVAMC campus.

Directions:
• Enter VA Site through the Main Entrance from Zorn Ave a • Turn right onto Country Club Rd. and stay to the left until stop sign. • Parking will be available immediately to or left in lot L-22 or in lot L-6 behind building T20 as shown on the map below.
• Walk into West Entrance of Building 1
• Conference room will be to the immediate left when walking in from the West Entrance
