2. Nature and/or Description of the Action Being Processed: This acquisition is for Cable Television services for patient waiting areas, break rooms, and some patient rooms at VAMC White River Junction, located at 215 N. Main Street, White River Junction, VT. The contract will have cable services for news, sports, music, and other programming. The current White River Junction base plus four options expires on 10/31/2026 therefore a new base and four options is needed to continue the cable services

3. Description of Supplies/Services Required to Meet the Agency’s Needs: Comcast is the only cable television provider for White River Junction, Vermont. Only one other cable television provider exists in Vermont (Trans-Video Inc. in Northfield, VT) and does not serve White River Junction VAMC.

4. Statutory Authority Permitting Restricted Competition:

RFO 12.102 Restricting Competition. The statutory authority for applying the Simplified Acquisition Procedures is 41 U.S.C. § 1901 and is implemented by RFO 12.102(b) for Restricting Competition using Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial Products and Services. Competition is restricted on this procurement for the reason below:
