CALCAISEU RIVER SALTWATER BARRIER FRP TAINTER GATE

INTRODUCTION

The US Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, Contracting Division is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support the requirement for the Calcaiseu River Saltwater Barrier FRP Tainter Gate. The intention is to procure this on a competitive basis

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

The work consists of the design, fabrication, and delivery of five (5) replacement fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) Tainter Gates at the Calcasieu River Saltwater Barrier Structure. The base bid is to include design, fabrication, and delivery of two (2) gates

with an option bid for the remaining three (3) gates. The new FRP Tainter Gates require full integration into the existing structure which include interchangeable installation and operation to the steel gates. This will include but not be limited to the bolted connection to the structure, seal locations, machinery lifting connections, similar range of weight and center of gravity, and specific installation requirements.
