Project: Maintenance Shop – HVAC/Heat Replacement
C.1.1
FACILITY BACKGROUND INFORMATION
C.1.1.1
The Government maintenance shop was constructed in 1985 and is using outdated heating systems which is causing the refuge issues. Partial electrical outages cause the air compressor to shut down and the system reacts to loss of air pressure by overruling the thermostat and turning on the heaters, which will run continuously until they are manually turned off or pressure is restored which causes excessive heat in the building when nobody is on site to turn off the system. The building is also equipped with a wood fired boiler which is seldomly used and needs to be replaced.
