FY27 ROH SSU SN 27-010

TITLE: Deckhouse Preservation (10YR)

1. QUESTION:

Kindly advise if we can allow to carry-out WJ-2 in lieu of abrasive blasting SSPC-SP10 for the surface preparation of the deckhouse vertical areas.
Due to environmental and regulatory constraints for onboard quay execution in Singapore, dry abrasive blasting is restricted. As such, we have proposed: - SSPC-SP WJ-2 (Waterjet Cleaning) as an alternative surface preparation method. - This method is widely accepted and capable of achieving equivalent cleanliness and coating performance where permitted.
We are seeking formal approval/deviation from MSC to use SSPC-SP WJ-2 (Waterjet Cleaning) as an alternative surface preparation method.
1a ANSWER: Item SSPC-SP10 for surface prep must stay as written due to surface RHR profile needs to be obtained
