1. Is the 28 inch inside base width measured at the opening where the handler straddles the drum or pallet? 2. Can you share the travel route (distance, ramps, thresholds) so we can tell whether a push unit meets the 40 pound limit or powered travel is needed? 3. Is the press area a classified hazardous location? Would spark-resistant parts at the drum contact points, plus a bonding cable and clamp, meet the ignition and bonding requirement? 4. Are the drums steel, rimmed plastic or both?
5. How many units, and does "installed" mean delivery, assembly and operator training, or more? 1. Is the 28 inch inside base width measured at the opening where the handler straddles the drum or pallet? See attached presentation for drum lift requirements. 2. Can you share the travel route (distance, ramps, thresholds) so we can tell whether a push unit meets the 40 pound limit or powered travel is needed? 55 Gallon drums are typically offloaded, loaded, and positioned within a 10-foot distance. Drum contents can weigh up to 600 pounds. There are no ramps or thresholds in the storage or staging areas. Current lifts are NOT powered. 3. Is the press area a classified hazardous location? Press areas are not classified hazardous locations and spark resistant parts are not required. 4. Are the drums steel, rimmed plastic or both? Drums are steel. 5. How many units, and does "installed" mean delivery, assembly and operator training, or more? Assembly and delivery. 1. What types and quantities of drum handling equipment are required (e.g., drum lifters, rotators, dispensers), and are specifications or salient characteristics available for review? 2. Is the requirement brand-name or brand-name-or-equal, and is delivery to the Washington, DC facility (20228) the only delivery point? 3. Does the requirement include any installation, assembly, or training, or is it supply-only? 1. What types and quantities of drum handling equipment are required (e.g., drum lifters, rotators, dispensers), and are specifications or salient characteristics available for review? Drum lifters are required, see attached presentation for drum lift requirements. 2. Is the requirement brand-name or brand-name-or-equal, and is delivery to the Washington, DC facility (20228) the only delivery point? Yes, DCF facility is the only delivery location.
