In their words: networks and Wi-Fi (Category 2)

The purpose of this form is to get quotes to REPLACE our existing Aruba AP-515 wireless access points. We would like to see the cost differences between renewing our licenses compared to replacing with new access points.

Read the applicant's full note

There will be a separate 470 filed for renewing the licenses. We will need a minimum of 100 APs . I would like to see pricing for a minimum of 5 year licensing term.As with any new hardware install, walkthroughs are encouraged. While most of this project involves simply removing the old AP and installing the new one, you may have recommendations on better placements depending on the products quoted, or recommendations to add more access points for better density coverage. We are a small district with approximately 1200 students.

We are 1:1 with iPads in grade K-1 and Chromebooks in grades 2-12. Most of our classes have around 25 students per room. Please take this into consideration when recommending equipment to ensure appropriate coverage and device density. We also heavily use wireless presenting devices such as Airtame along with other services such as Airplay and Google Cast.

Proven compatibility with these services is required.Additional functionality for monitoring services/apps, showing/limiting data usage, and the ability to block clients at the AP level is also helpful. Please keep in mind:-- Vendor must demonstrate they are a valid reseller of products quoted.-- In-state (or local) vendors preferred.-- Previous experience with vendor preferred.-- Vendor must put in writing their willingness to give discounted bills.-- Email is the preferred method for communication.-- We reserve the right to limit walkthroughs to specific days, depending on local staff availability.
