Newest DLA bids
What DIBBS is
DLA buys spare parts, fuel, food, clothing, medical supplies and construction material for the military. Most of its purchases are small and automated: a request for quotation (RFQ) is generated for an NSN, posted on DIBBS, and closes within days. Vendors search DIBBS by NSN, Federal Supply Class, part number or solicitation number, download the RFQ, and submit a quote in the system. Larger DLA solicitations, and many set-asides, are posted on SAM.gov as well, which is where Federal Bid Alerts reads them.
What you need before you quote
- An active SAM.gov registration. It is free, and it gives your business its Unique Entity ID. DLA cannot award to a vendor without it. See how to get government contracts.
- A CAGE code. US businesses receive one during SAM registration; DIBBS identifies vendors by it.
- A DIBBS vendor account, set up on the DIBBS site with your CAGE code. Only people your company authorizes can submit quotes.
How to find DLA bids
The fastest way: browse the open DLA bids here by trade, or sign up above and get the new ones that match your business every morning, with the deadline, the buying office and a link to the official notice. For DLA's smallest automated buys, which appear only on DIBBS, search its open RFQs by NSN or Federal Supply Class for the items you make or distribute.
How to quote: the steps
- Open the RFQ and read the item description, quantity, delivery terms and the closing date.
- Check the approved sources: many DLA items list the manufacturers and part numbers the government accepts. Quoting another part is an alternate offer and needs technical data to prove it is equal, which takes time to evaluate.
- Check the traceability and packaging requirements: distributors usually must show the part comes from an approved manufacturer.
- Enter your unit price and delivery time and submit before the RFQ closes. DLA often awards on price among acceptable offers.
