The HawalWolcanoes Narional Par~ Water Collection Sysrem IS an essential component of the parK's facilities. Due to the pervious lava rock terrain, water must be collecred prior ro ground contact. Rainsheds and storage tanks gather water. The warer collection system at the parK has evolved over the years from a few individual redwood tanks to an expansive collection of steel tanks and lined ground catchments.

This projecr was mainly focused on documentarlon of the rainsheds and tanks above the park visitor certer. Many other collection. storage. and distribution features are located throughout the park. The first three drawings In this set represent eXisting conditions as of 2008. The remaining sheets were refor'11atted from drawlng~ produced for the park In 1993.
