Introduction

1.1

Project Background

The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) engaged consultants for 16 months to provide a clear, concise, and comprehensive (20) twenty-year master plan using data-driven decisions to fulfill the existing Facility’s doctrine and vision for the future. The planning process included collaborative charrettes for evaluating the existing VASNHS facility, known deficiencies, potential opportunities, and the incorporation of future projects. This was completed in February 2025, and a needs assessment and recommendations were provided.

Purpose

VASNHS will present this report to leadership and seek funding for projects from contracting that they feel offer value and benefit to Veterans. The report may also be used as a basis for a procurement package for solicitation to prospective DB or DBB contactors once funding is secured and it becomes a Project.
The purpose of this specific assignment is to analyze the existing parking lot layouts and to provide more detailed recommendations to improve pedestrian safety, minimize conflicts between vehicles & pedestrians, and provide an accessible environment for all visitors by reconfiguing / redesigning the parking lot layouts and walkways. This schematic design can be further developed into a construction
