Q01 Discontinued products and manufacturer recommended replacements Reference: PPG | Rows 18, 29, 150 158, 162, 165, 245, 251, 272 273 Finding: PPG supplied ESBs C-ESB-26-15.01 (May 12, 2026), C-ESB-26-32 and C-ESB-26-33 (August 27, 2026). They document complete 03-series and partial 01/01F- and 99-series discontinuations. May offerors propose the manufacturer-recommended replacements listed below in light of the discontinuation notices? Please identify the accepted product, color, type/class, complete kit configuration and any required supporting qualification evidence, and update Appendix D accordingly. Where no replacement is acceptable, please clarify how the unavailable requirement should be addressed in the proposal. Response: See below responses

Q01 Discontinued PPG products and acceptance of manufacturer-identified replacements: Reference: Appendix D, CLINs 0002, 0003, 0007, 0009 and 0016; affected rows identified below. PPG’s technical team has advised that certain products listed in Appendix D are discontinued or unavailable and has identified proposed replacements. Supporting manufacturer notices include C-ESB-26-15.01, dated May 12, 2026, concerning discontinuation of the DEFT 03 series, and C-ESB-26-32 and C-ESB-26-33, dated August 27, 2026, concerning partial discontinuations within the 01/01F and 99 series. Please clarify the following affected requirements so offerors can propose the intended products consistently.

CLIN 0002, row 18; CLIN 0003, row 29; and CLIN 0016, row 150 01-GY-93, color 17178 SILVER

Each occurrence requests a 1GL KT under MIL-PRF-85285 Type I. PPG s technical team advised that 01-GY-93 is no longer available and identified 8201F17178MPG22K as its proposed replacement. May 8201F17178MPG22K be proposed for each of these three occurrences? Please confirm the required color/finish, Type I qualification and complete mixed one-gallon kit configuration. Response: Since the sources sought posting in early 2025, this product has been replaced in our inventory with P/N N-9398A (manufactured by NCP Coatings), which is qualified to MIL-PRF-22750. Please substitute with this product instead.
