The Parties share the mutual objective of engaging in joint technical exchanges, collaborative assessments, and exploratory activities in support of the FAA's intention to procure, integrate, and sustain modern headsets, handsets, voice switching systems, and associated communications equipment to be used by Air Traffic Controllers throughout the National Airspace System (NAS). This Agreement provides an adaptable mechanism under which the Parties may mutually identify, evaluate, and pursue collaborative technical initiatives of shared interest across operational air traffic control voice communications infrastructure. The FAA reserves the right to award a non-competitive follow-on production contract to the successful prototype participant upon successful completion of prototype milestones.
