STRUCTURE EVALUATION SUMMARY
This timber beam bridge is in fair condition overall. The structure currently exhibits minor deterioration along the waterline of the east abutment, exposed footing at the east abutment, and minor deterioration of the timber deck, curbs, and railings. These conditions will continue to be monitored during future inspection cycles. The south railing at the east approach was replaced since the last inspection. Corrective measures for other issues should be taken as outlined in this report to help improve visitor safety. Consideration should also be given to replacing the existing bridge railing system with one meeting current safety standards.
It should also be noted that the bridge is currently posted for a 10-ton load limit. Please be advised that the calculated capacity of the bridge is adequate for legal loads and posting for load is no longer required. However, the existing load limit signs may remain in place at the discretion of the Park.
