Oak Ridge Critical Minerals Questions:
•

For the lithium hydride, could the nine smaller shields be offered separately from the large shield with depleted uranium plates? And when do you expect the characterization work to finish and the decision on whether any DOE site wants the material, so private parties know when it could actually be available? Yes, the nine smaller shields can be offered separately from the shield with depleted uranium.
DOE is awaiting a schedule from our contractor on the characterization work. We will know if any DOE site wants the materials by the end of October. Per the property transfer regulations, the shields must then be offered to state and local governments before being made commercially available. That process is an additional 45 days after characterization is completed.

•

When does DOE expect to decide whether other DOE sites will take the lithium hydride shields? And who would be responsible for obtaining the DOT packaging exemption for transport?
The DOT packaging exemption responsibility would be worked in the final agreement.
