4.0 Scope of AoI
4.1 AoI Background
Under the Agile Combat Employment (ACE) operational scheme of maneuver, the Department of the Air Force (DAF) requires rapidly deployable, austere-capable infrastructure across the First and Second Island Chains. Conventional permanent PreEngineered Metal Buildings (PEMBs) require lengthy construction timelines (24–36 months), massive concrete civil works, and are non-relocatable once erected. Conversely, commercial expeditionary tents lack the structural rigidity, wind resistance, and atmospheric sealing necessary to withstand typhoons and extreme marine salt-fog
