BAR GRATING AND SADDLE CLIPS
Bidders must acknowledge this Amendment prior to the hour and date set forth in the solicitation by one of the following methods: 1.
By completing the SARC and PROC-FRM-466, or
2.
By email.
If by virtue of this Amendment you desire to change a bid already submitted, such change may be made by email, provided such email reference the Solicitation and this Amendment, and is received prior to the due date hour.
The above reference Solicitation is amended as follows:
This amendment extends the due date one week, from 5:00 PM CT, Friday, November 6, 2026, to 5:00 PM CT, Friday, November 13, 2026.
This amendment provides clarification to the technical specification:
1. Regarding the saddle clips, please confirm what W44 and W10 refer to - are they specific manufacturer part numbers, or a designation tied to the beam flanges (W44x290 and W10x49)? Response: The required clip is compatible with the 1.5" bearing bar height and the flange thickness per the drawing.
2. Is it acceptable to provide the manufacturer's published load table to demonstrate compliance with the 100 PSF live load, 1,000 lb concentrated load, and 0.25 inch maximum deflection over a 48 inch span? Response: Mfg load tables are sufficient for compliance. 3. Does bar grating 1/4in rod have to be twisted or can it be flat? Response: Either way works, as long as the deflection limitations can be achieved with the relevant bearing bar configuration.
4. Are the following standard 19-W-4 grating widths acceptable? For Items 6 and 7, please identify the acceptable option
Items 1, 3, and 4: 23.9375″ instead of 24″.
Items 2, 5, and 8: 12.0625″ instead of 12″.
Item 6: 25.125″ or 26.3125″ instead of 25.875″.
Item 7: 13.25″ or 14.4375″ instead of 13.875″.
Response: Panel sizes would be adequate, and for 6& 7 the smaller size would be acceptable. 5. Are complete galvanized G-style clamping assemblies acceptable in place of the listed Type W44/W10 saddle clips—1,768 assemblies for W44×290 beams and 352 for W10×49 beams—provided they properly clamp the specified beam flanges and secure the grating? Response: G-clips are acceptable, if compatible with the 2 flange sizes specified. Goal is to have top of clip flush to the walking surface
6. Section 3 specifies a minimum 1,000-pound line load at mid-span and a nominal maximum deflection
