Digital Talking Book Machine Batteries
Questions and Answers 4

Question 59: Our supplier has reviewed the referenced test list and raised concerns that the cited clauses may correspond to UL 62133-2, which applies to lithium systems, rather than UL 62133-1, which addresses nickel systems. Is this correct? Is UL 62133-1 the intended standard, and are the cited clauses correct for the specified battery chemistry? Answer 59: Please indicate the cited clauses that you are referring to. This procurement is for Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery packs so we are only concerned with nickel systems.

Question 60: Is the requirement for a single-cell test or a battery-pack-level test? Answer 60: Pack-level

Question 61: If the referenced clauses or testing levels are inconsistent with the intended standard, will the Government issue clarification on the applicable requirements? Answer 61: Yes.
